Refund Policy

At SBS Simple But Significant, we strive to provide the best service for all marquee and equipment hire. However, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and you may need to cancel or amend your booking. Our refund policy is designed to ensure fairness for both parties while covering the costs associated with the preparation and provision of our services.

1. Deposit Refunds:

  • A 20% deposit is required to confirm your booking.

  • Cancellation within 48 hours of booking: You are eligible for a full refund of your deposit if the cancellation is made within 48 hours of the initial booking.

  • Cancellation after 48 hours but more than 30 days before the event date: 50% of the deposit will be refunded.

  • Cancellation less than 30 days before the event date: The deposit is non-refundable.

2. Full Payment Refunds - Hire/Bookings (if already paid):

  • Cancellation more than 14 days before the event: If full payment has been made, and you cancel more than 14 days before the scheduled event date, you are eligible for a refund of the total amount paid minus the non-refundable deposit and any costs incurred by SBS up to that point.

  • Cancellation within 14 days of the event: If full payment has been made and the booking is canceled within 14 days of the scheduled event date, no refund will be issued. This is due to the operational costs and commitments associated with your booking.

3. Full Payment Refunds - Store Purchases:

  • Our money-back guarantee policy lasts 7 days. If you purchase a Marquee or any item from our store and you change your mind within 7 days then you are entitled to a full refund. If it's been over 7 days and you request a refund you will not be eligible.

  • Please ensure you have the order number ready to be eligible for a refund.

  • Any marquee purchases from Simple But Significant must be returned in original condition, undamaged, and in original packaging/box.

  • You must apply for a refund within 7 days of receiving your item.​

4. Weather-Related Cancellations:

  • If SBS is unable to install the marquee due to adverse weather conditions that exceed safety limits (such as high winds), the full hire charge is still payable. We strongly recommend obtaining event insurance to cover such circumstances.

5. Changes to Booking:

  • Minor changes (e.g., adjusting the number of items): Can be made up to 7 days before the event date at no additional charge. If the adjustment results in a lower overall hire cost, a partial refund may be issued for the difference.

  • Significant changes (e.g., changing the date of the event): Are subject to availability and may incur additional charges. If a new date cannot be accommodated, the cancellation policy above will apply.

6. Non-Refundable Items:

The following items are non-refundable, regardless of when the cancellation is made:

  • Custom or specially ordered equipment

  • Any services or products provided by third-party vendors that SBS Simple But Significant has contracted on your behalf

7. Force Majeure:

No refunds will be provided for cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, government restrictions, or other force majeure events. We recommend event insurance to cover such situations.

8. Refund Process:

  • Refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days of receiving the cancellation request, provided all conditions above have been met.

  • Refunds will be issued via the same payment method used for the initial transaction unless otherwise agreed upon.
